One year of leaving gov sector

It’s been 1 year of leaving the government sector.

Not looking back over my shoulder.

Despite working for myself back then, there’s still stuff which I’m glad I no longer need to do now:

  • Having clients from hell, or just staff members who are toxic and rude, but you have to remain professional and engage them anyway.
  • Putting myself out there in the most extroverted way, even though I’m introvert through and through.
  • Meetings. Yes there were still some.
  • Dealing with outdated government payment and processes.
  • Feeling like I burn out after every project, because I run solo and put 110% into them.
  • The money stopped being good. It also mostly dried up. This is the key thing. Especially when I needed it to feed the fam.

Looking back, it was a particular stage of my life. It’s just… work. Not a life-defining one.

Being a father now, though, probably is.

Forwards and onwards.
