Winter’s my season

Despite having grown up in tropical, all-year-round summer, I realise cold is my kinda weather, and winter my season.
There’s nothing quite like walking out of the house into a wall of freezing cold air. It shocks and invigorates. It keeps me alert and awake, motivated and productive. I feel most alive in winter…somehow. Unlike in tropical climes, the heat shuts down every thing. You get sleepy, sweaty, sticky, drowsy, unmotivated.
There’s nothing quite like watching the first snow fall.
There’s nothing quite like walking through pure untouched snow in the morning.
There’s nothing quite like keeping warm behind a glass window, with a cuppa tea, while watching the blizzard howl.
There’s nothing quite like eating heartily to keep the cold out.
There’s nothing quite like being wrapped up beneath layers in winter, a season for introverts.
The environment does all the work when it’s cold. For me at least.
Winter is my soul season.
I’d choose to live in a colder place, if I can.
