Best and worst of 2025

Reading last year’s post got me thinking about the best and worst of my 2025:

Best and worst project

🥇 Jason’s Plugins For Carrd. Still my most profitable project to date, though not exactly diaper profitable yet. It just grows steadily, year on year.

💩 Space Defenders. The most fun I had this year with a project. Always loved video games, played Atari when I was a kid. Relived my childhood by vibe-coding this.

Best and worst marketing hack

🥇 #marketing365. Started this on 17 April, and not looked back since! A marketing task a day, for 365 days. If I left it to inspiration, I might have never done any marketing no more.

💩 Fluffy UI. Not sure where I was going with this. Nice memes but pretty lame from a business pov, on hindsight. Just some random fun using ChatGPT to generate fluffy images. No revenue potential.

Best and worst lesson

🥇 Self-care. It’s a lesson that’s a looong time coming. Like decades long. I’ve always been so disembodied, it’s no longer funny. My health took several hits due to that over the recent years. Middle age is showing the cracks now. But I think I’ve definitely turned a corner this year. Self care is a skill, and I’m finally getting it.

💩 Trying to do something I am not in the season for. There, I’ve said it. All the goals I set at the beginning of the year had a deep structural problem – I wasn’t in the right season or life stage to pursue them. Launch a new SaaS. Hit $10k per month product revenue. Hard enough with burnout and midlife fatigue, improbable with a thousand other things going on—alarms ringing, horns blaring—in family, career and life. I had decided I won’t be setting goals for 2026.

So what’s your best and worse for 2025?

Comments

Best: Going part-time as an independent contractor and building my business more aggressively, including achieving more success than ever with a network marketing company. Worst: Still not achieving weight loss goal and back to drawing board regarding hormone replacement therapy.
